It's the best music player of Linux,  I decided to have a try...


Installation
+ Go to Applications>Ubuntu Software Center, select Amarok and install it.

MP3 supporting
+ Go to System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager> install package libtunepimp5-mp3.
+ run command sudo apt-get install libxine1-ffmpeg

Lyrics supporting
+ Go to Amarok> tools > script manager, both check 'lyricwiki' and 'ultimatelyric'

Rediscover your music.
+The lyrics page show lyrics



The wiki page show some information about the singer.
 

Startdict is a cross-platform,powerful online dictionary. Follow below steps to install and configure it.

1. installing startdict
$ sudo apt-get install stardict

2. installing additional dictionaries.
+ go to http://stardict.sourceforge.net/ download some dictionaries.
+ put it to correspond dictionary.

$tar -xjvf *.tar.bz2 
$sudo mv * /usr/share/stardict/dic 

3.configure WyabdcRealPeopleTTS

$sudo apt-get install wyabdcrealpeopletts
$sudo tar -xvf WyabdcRealPeopleTTS.tar.bz2 -C /usr/share
$apt-get install sox

1. Installing Chinese support
+Go to system->Administrator->Language Support
+Click button Install/Remove Languages, select Chinese simplified.
+Select ibus in Keyboard input method drop-down list.
After download some packages from Internet, ubuntu begins install Chinese language support.
Restart ubuntu to let update take effect.

2.Configuring Input Method
+ Right click the keyboard icon in right of task bar, select Preferences,
+ Add some Chinese input method, such as wubi, pinyin.

The wubi is really cool, better than windows one, in my opinions.

   

Chmview is a very good tool of reading chm file in ubuntu.  I like it much than readers of  Windows.
It will create a simple web server , then open firefox to browse address http://localhost:17767/.

The installation steps,

sudo su ; change to root user
1. Download a gzip file

2.  $gunzip chmview.gz ; get a ELF file chmview
3.  $chmod a+x chmview
4.  $mv chmview /usr/local/bin
5.  $cd /usr/local/bin
6.  $mv chmview chmview_fox
7.  $chmview_fox <*.chm>
8.  find the chm file, right click , and select Property->Open With , select chmview_fox.

这两个星期我送儿子上学。我比平时早出门４０分钟，带儿子换两个公共汽车，送他到他们学校后，再走回班车点。儿子带了个学校发的黄帽子，显得比平时瘦，一声不吭的跟在我后面。习惯了他平时在家里的絮叨，他一下子安静了，我还有点不适应。

这段时间为了学习英文，晚上在家看Harry Potter，写给小孩的书，语法比较简单，再加上不时的用用金山词霸，读的速度还不慢。Harry初到魔法学校的那段描写非常精彩，那种孤单，那种对未知世界的向往与恐惧，引发了我的共鸣。不知作者的故事结构是否借鉴了简爱，同样的初身贫寒，同样的隐藏在瘦弱外表里面的勇敢与执着。

看过电影Forrest Gump，其实我把那它当成励志片来看的，它对人生作了探讨，第个人都有他的destiny,还是我们都该随遇而安？所以我非常反对把它翻译成《阿甘正传》，套用《阿Q正传》，以拾人牙慧来吸引观众，太过无聊。

时间过得太快，自己读书的时光仿佛昨天，却已经送儿子上学啦年龄了。
